Wall Street, Main Street, Sesame Street

Puppet theme, part 2....
Soon to be the Mean Street? Desperate times….

The crisis on Wall Street is plaguing Sesame Street.
Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit producer of "Sesame Street" and other kids' programs, is cutting about one-fifth of its work force because of the economic downturn. The NY based company declaring it is "not immune to the unprecedented challenges of today's economic environment."

Sesame Workshop gets cash from product licensing and the sale of its programs to PBS and syndication. The company is also funded by government agencies, foundations and corporations including drug maker Astra Zeneca LLP and McDonald’s Corp. Even Bert and Ernie are tightening their belts...this is REALLY bad.

This story is getting lots of coverage today. It comes as no surprise that a non-profit is feeling the pain of the sour economy. Seriously, more people are loosing their jbs everyday. How are people expected to find confidence in the markets//economy when even Sesame Street is hurting!!?? More bad news. It's draggin me down.
