Is there going to be a battle for the spot as Obama's BFF?
I think a dangerous love triangle is starting to form between President Obama, Vice-President Joe Biden and White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. US Vice President Joe Biden says he sees his role as being a "confidant" and "adviser" to President Obama. "I don't see myself as the deputy president. I see myself as the president's confidant," Mr Biden told CBS News programme Face the Nation. "Hopefully I'm the last person in the room with every important decision he makes," the former senator added.
Funny you should say that Mr. Biden, and I wonder if you read this Sunday's New York Times article on Rahm Emanuel? The Times article suggests that Mr. Emanuel has "exerted influence on countless decisions; in meetings, administration officials say, Mr. Obama often allows him to speak first and last." The article also goes on to suggest that Obama has already promised Emanuel the seat next to him at the lunch table - assuring him that the position as Chief of Staff would be the functional equivalent of ''a No. 2'' or ''right-hand man''
If you ask me this has the makings of a seventh grade spat, with Biden looking like the third wheel.
